Radiation

back to water filter home

The radiation levels can be high in your water supply,  especially in certain parts of the UK such as Cornwall, Devon and Aberdeen.  This issue relates to the granite substrate which also contains Uranium as well as other natural, radioactive elements.  However there is also radioactive contamination from other sources.

Contamination from Chernobyl is still present,  there may be emissions from the burning of fossil fuel, there are also emissions from nuclear power stations. Ground water, boreholes and springs can occasionally contain low level radiation.
